Cub Scout Twilight Camp 2019

Your Cub Scout will enjoy games, crafts, nature, water activities, and more!

REGISTER HERE

We have made a number of changes from previous year’s camps; two of which are the location & time.  This year’s camp has shifted from a day camp to a twilight camp and will be held daily from 2 PM to 8 PM, June 3rd through 5th.  Additionally, the camp will be at Zilker Park (Polo Picnic Area) instead of Camp Mabry.  We are hopeful that both of these changes will help make travel to/from camp a breeze for our families.

New program activities like Orienteering, theme based STEM activities, and Frisbee Golf have been added for this year as well.

  • Learn outdoor skills, enjoy STEM activities, play sports, earn advancements, make crafts, and more
When:
  • June 3rd – 5th, 2019
  • 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM Daily

Where:
  • Zilker Park – POLO PICNIC AREA
2225 Andrew Zilker Rd, Austin, TX 78746

How Much:
  • $100 per Cub Scout

Help Wanted:

Volunteer and join your child in the fun! There are no paid roles on Day Camp Staff. Summer camps are 100 percent volunteer driven. To ensure a successful and safe camp program, volunteers are needed to assist the staff and guide the Cub Scouts through each day’s activities. Sign-up today!

Tot Lot $20: Tot Lot is offered to adults who are volunteering at day camp ONLY. Tots are 3 to 5 years old and must be potty trained.

Thunderbird Scouting Adventure Weekend (SAW) 2017

March 31-April 2, 2017

We will be competing scout skills, concentrating on pioneering and First Aid.  Regardless of your level of ability, we will have fun, exciting challenges for you!  For younger scouts, there will be the chance not only to compete for the honor of their unit, but also to fulfill rank requirements in all these areas!  More experienced scouts will have the opportunity to take on bigger challenges!  We will also have a backcountry program for older scouts 14 and older who are at least First Class rank.

$15/person ($5 discount for units early registration by March 13)

New! DAW T-Shirts may be purchased only with early registration for $12 ($2 extra for 2XL and 3XL)

Wessendorf Ranch on the Devil’s Backbone

Go W. on 290 West toward Johnson City

Where 290 intersects with highway 281, go left (south), continue past Blanco

Take a left on RR 32, just south of Blanco and go approx 6 miles

Take a left on County Road 473/403 “Narrows Rd.” about 3.5 miles

Ranch Gate will be on left

Who:

Boy Scouts, Teams, Posts, Crews, and Ships are all welcome to participate!

Administratively:

At check-in, each unit will need to turn in a complete list of all attendees, a BSA Annual Health and Medical record for all attendees, proof of YPT for each adult, and show proof of your tour permit.

The list of attendees should include, at a minimum, their first & last name and, if a youth, their rank.  A printout from your unit’s registration system is acceptable.  Be patient at check-in since this is the first time we will be receiving this information.

What to Bring:

Frontcountry Scouts will be engaging in pioneering and first aid activities and should have gloves, and long-sleeve clothing which will protect their arms and legs.  Backcountry Scouts should expect to spend the night in the backcountry, and most of their day exploring the back country of the beautiful Wessendorf Ranch, so make sure to have backpacking gear, compass, gps, hat, good hiking boots, socks, and trail food, but most importantly, lots and lots of water!

Units should bring plenty of water, as there will not be potable water available on-site.
