Happy Tuesday, Scouting Family!
First, a belated but heartfelt Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms of Scouts, both past and present. I hope your weekend was filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of rest—you’ve certainly earned it!
As we prepare for summer and all the excitement it brings, now’s the perfect time to get our ducks in a row and stay ahead of the game.

We’ve noticed many units are seeing drop-offs in their current rosters. Please take a moment this week to:
- Review your youth and adult members in your unit to ensure accuracy.
- Check for expired memberships and YPT training – this is the #1 reason people are dropped from rosters.
Members receive multiple renewal notices (90, 60, 30, 14, 7, and 1 day before expiration), but if not renewed, they are automatically removed.

We’ve got youth and adults who are ready to join – don’t leave them hanging!
Log in to my.scouting.org and open Invitation Manager to follow up on pending invites.

If you need more time or help navigating it, I’m checking in every Wednesday to keep things moving forward.

It’s one of the best fundraising seasons of the year, and units can earn up to 38% commission!
- New Units can earn up to 50%, PLUS two free boxes of White Cheddar popcorn – a value of nearly $500!

Some of our most successful units champion popcorn early and set themselves up for a great year!

We’re seeing a lot of new leadership at the unit level – thank you for stepping up and keeping Scouting alive and strong!
To support our new leaders, we’re hosting a breakout session at our June Roundtable:
Date: Wednesday, June 5th
What to Expect:

- New Leader Packets
- Guidance, resources, and Q&A
- A great opportunity to get plugged in

If you have questions or topics you’d like covered, please reach out to:
- Your Unit Commissioner
- District Commissioner Bill Orner
- Or me by May 29th to ensure we can add them to the agenda.

Thank you again for all that you do to support our Scouts and make me look good doing it! You are the heart and soul of this program, and I’m proud to be on this journey with each of you.
Yours in Scouting,
Sherrick West | Thunderbird District Executive
