ROUNDTABLE THIS THURSDAY….
Sorry for the resend. Somehow, lots of people didn’t get it the first time.
1) CENTRAL TEXAS FOOD BANK presentation on how your Cubs or Scouts can become involved in a service project to help feed the poor and/or homeless during or after the holidays.
2) ISSUES WITH WEBELOS WOODS AND/OR CAMPOREE? YOU’RE INVITED TO ATTEND AN OPTIONAL BREAKOUT (PACKS AND TROOPS) AND PARTICIPATE IN A STOP-START-CONTINUE DISCUSSION REGARDING WEBELOS WOODS AND CAMPOREE. The intent is to improve our two District-sponsored events. Planning a multi-unit event is very different from planning a unit event. As with your unit, the District is staffed entirely by volunteers so in order keep this efficient and productive, please come prepared with concise and constructive feedback.
STOP:Offer one thing for Webelos Woods and/or Camporee that you think the District can improve upon, hopefully offering solutions.
START: Offer one thing for Webelos Woods and/or Camporee that you would like the District to include in those events.
CONTINUE: Share with the District the one thing you like most about Webelos Woods and/ or Camporee that you’d like to see continue.
3) CHANGES TO THE CUB SCOUT ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM will be explained. This is information all Cub leaders need to know.
4) CHANGES TO THE SCOUT RANK OF STAR WILL BE EXPLAINED. ALSO, many merit badge requirements have been significantly changed.
5) PLEASE BRING TWO DOZEN COOKIES TO ROUNDTABLE (buy them at the store if you need to, shame-free!). We’ll eat a few, and everyone will swap with others so you can take a variety home for your family!
EVERY KEY-THREE (CUB/SCOUTMASTER, COMMITTEED CHAIR, ORGANIZATION REPRESENTATIVE) WAS SENT A SURVEY LAST WEEK. It is important that every unit respond so that the District and Council can plan for maximum success. Thank you!
IT’S TIME TO WRAP UP YOUR UNIT’S RECHARTER. Experts will be on hand to walk you thorough the process if you need help.
6) FILL OUT CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR OVERSEAS SOLDIERS AT THIS MEETING.Deb Petersen will furnish the cards; all you need to do is fill them out with your own message. This is an activity you can do with your scouts.
EVERY SCOUT TROOP SHOULD SEND AN ADULT LEADER AND A SCOUT TO ROUNDTABLEEARLY (AT 6 PM) to plan the Spring Camporee, (April 12-14 at Wessendorf near Blanco). [Camporees are semi-annual campouts for Scouts BSA, not Cubs.]
MAKE SOME NEW FRIENDS WHO SHARE YOUR LOVE OF SCOUTING EVERY MONTH AT ROUNDTABLE!
YOU CAN ASK ANY SCOUTING QUESTION OF NATIONAL EXPERTS LIVE ONLINE
FACE TO FACE EACH WEEK/MONTH.
