Somehow\, lots of people didn’t get it the first time.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1) CENTRAL TEXAS FOOD BANK presentation on how your Cubs or Scouts can become involved in a service project to help feed the poor and/or homeless during or after the holidays.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2) ISSUES WITH WEBELOS WOODS AND/OR CAMPOREE?  YOU’RE INVITED TO ATTEND AN OPTIONAL BREAKOUT (PACKS AND TROOPS) AND PARTICIPATE IN A STOP-START-CONTINUE DISCUSSION REGARDING WEBELOS WOODS AND CAMPOREE.  The intent is to improve our two District-sponsored events. Planning a multi-unit event is very different from planning a unit event. As with your unit\, the District is staffed entirely by volunteers so in order keep this efficient and productive\, please come prepared with concise and constructive feedback. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSTOP: Offer one thing for Webelos Woods and/or Camporee that you think the District can improve upon\, hopefully offering solutions. \nSTART: Offer one thing for Webelos Woods and/or Camporee that you would like the District to include in those events. \nCONTINUE: Share with the District the one thing you like most about Webelos  Woods and/ or Camporee that you’d like to see continue. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n3) CHANGES TO THE CUB SCOUT ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM will be explained. This is information all Cub leaders need to know. \n4) CHANGES TO THE SCOUT  RANK OF STAR WILL BE EXPLAINED.   ALSO\, many merit badge requirements have been significantly changed.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n5) PLEASE BRING TWO DOZEN COOKIES TO ROUNDTABLE (buy them at the store if you need to\, shame-free!). DESCRIPTION:ICE CREAM SOCIAL THURSDAY EVENING AT ROUNDTABLE! \nEVERY SCOUT TROOP SHOULD SEND AN ADULT LEADER AND A SCOUT TO ROUNDTABLE EARLY (AT 6 PM)\nto plan Webelos Woods\, which is already less than 2 months away. \n\nICE CREAM SOCIAL! Enjoy some homemade (and some store-bought) ice cream as you make new friends and catch with scouters you already know.\n\nRETENTION STRATEGIES.  Billy Riggs will talk about ways to keep your scouts active in scouting and help ensure that Cubs make the transition to Scouts BSA successfully.\n\nNATIONAL JAMBOREE REPORT. Betsy Shelton attended the National Jamboree last month with about 15\,000 scouts\, scouters\, and staff and will give us an encouraging update on all that happened.\n\nFLORIDA NATIONAL SEA BASE PRESENTATION – Michael Johnson\, General Manager of Sea Base High Adventure Camp in the Florida Keys will “meet” with us live via Zoom to tell us about the wonderful opportunities for older scouts (not open to Cubs) to spend their summer camp sailing\, scuba diving\, etc.  However\, you Cub Leaders will want to hear this in order to equip you to hype Scouting\, look forward to your own future visit to Sea Base\, and encourage your Cubs to continue their scouting journey all the way to Eagle. \nCUB BREAKOUT – Jack McKinney\, a Life Scout in Troop 61 will discuss (as a part of his Eagle Project) how to build a native bee habitat.  If time permits\, cub leaders will also discuss all of the options available for Webelos Woods. \nSCOUTS BSA BREAKOUT – Learn everything you need to know to make the most of your Webelos Woods experience. \nWEBELOS WOODS IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AWAY!  Put it on your calendar now for Oct. 21!  Scouts BSA may arrive the night before to prepare a great welcome for the Webelos. \nCOMING OCTOBER 5: ROUNDTABLE TRAINING RALLY FOR ALL ADULT VOLUNTEER LEADERS! Please encourage all of your leaders to attend for position-specific training. Experienced scouters will be present to do training for den leaders\, Scoutmasters\, Treasurers\, Committee Heads\, etc. We’re also hosting leaders from Armadillo\, Waterloo\, and Sacred Springs Districts! \nTREY LITTLE HAS DONE A GREAT JOB leading our Scouts BSA breakouts at Roundtable for as long as I can remember.  (Thanks for all your hard work\, Trey!)
