SUMMARY:International Camporee
DESCRIPTION:Units are invited to take part in the International Camporee\, hosted by Rio Grande Council from September 11–13 at Camp Perry near Harlingen. The International Camporee is a large-scale Scouting campout that brings together participants from Mexico and the USA to promote global friendship\, leadership\, and outdoor skills. The event features activities such as camping\, team challenges\, cultural exchange\, and skill-building exercises designed to foster unity and collaboration. SUMMARY:Thunderbird Camporee
DESCRIPTION:We call upon the Scouts of the Thunderbird District to assemble\, April 17 to 19\, at The Wessendorff Ranch to celebrate with us the BSA Olympic Games. \nAfter several discussions with leaders from the district\, units\, and council and careful review of the weather forecast for this weekend\, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule this weekend’s District Camporee.\nThis decision was not made lightly. The safety of our Scouts\, families\, and leaders must always come first. With storms and lightning expected\, along with a forecast showing severe weather for more than 75% of the weekend and NO permanent shelter at Wessendorf\, we feel that exercising extreme caution is the right choice. Additionally\, because our Camporee is heavily activity-focused rather than a standard campout\, we want Scouts to be able to experience the event fully and safely.\nWe are not canceling Camporee for the year—we are simply moving it to a new date and location.\n New Dates: September 25–27\n Location: Lost Pines

DESCRIPTION:Save the date for our council’s Jamboree on the Air–Jamboree on the Internet (JOTA-JOTI) Passport to International Spirit on October 17\, at the Fickett Center! JOTA-JOTI is held annually during the third full weekend in October and connects more than 57 million Scouts worldwide through a weekend of fun\, interactive experiences. Our council’s International Committee invites all Scouting families to participate in this unique program\, offering Scouts of all ages (Cubs\, Scouts BSA\, Venturing\, Sea Scouts\, and Scouters) the opportunity to engage with and learn from fellow Scouts across the globe.
