ANNOUNCING AN NRA RIFLE INSTRUCTOR AND RANGE SAFETY OFFICER TRAINING COURSE- March 5-7, 2010.
This course completes all requirements for both NRA Rifle Instructor and NRA Range Safety Officer training. The training includes both classroom and range time. The course is limited to 20 participants.
Cost: The Rifle Instructor and RSO training Course fees are $75.00. At the completion of the course, there are NRA fees that will range between $21-$57, depending on your NRA status. Included in the course fees are all books and supplies, lunch and dinner on Saturday, coffee and soft drinks. You must be pre-registered to attend.
Location: The instruction portion of the course will take place at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's classroom at 1340 Airport Commerce Drive, Bldg 6, Suite B. The training will begin on Friday at 6:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm. It will begin on Saturday at 9:00 am and end at 9:00 pm. On Sunday, we will meet at the Rifle range at Lost Pines 10:00 am and end around 3:00 pm. You must be present for all of the training in order to become certified.
While this will be a Certified NRA Rifle Instruction Course and RSO training, the instruction will be youth oriented, and Boy Scout and Venture oriented in particular.
By becoming an NRA certified rifle instructor and range safety officer (RSO) each participant must commit to helping at least once each year with either a Council, Troop or Venture shooting sports activity.
This course is not for individuals wanting to become Cub Scout BB gun range instructors and only individuals 21 or older can attend.
