Youth Protection Required for All Registered Leaders

AS OF JUNE 1, 2010 ALL REGISTERED LEADERS MUST HAVE YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING. Also, for a unit to recharter at the end of the year, all registered leaders must be current in YPT to avoid being dropped.

Cub Scout Leader Training Schedule

The Spring 2012 Cub Scout Leaders Specific Training is now On-line for registration.

Instructor Lead class registrations can be found on the Capitol Area Council website at:

You're a new adult leader in Scouting. What training MUST you take?

Free eLearning classes: (visit: www.myscouting.org)

Youth Protection Training

  • Required for all registered adult leaders when you turn in your application and every 2 years after that.
  • Take the course online through the Online Learning Center in MyScouting (if you are new to Scouting, you will be asked to create an account)

Fast Start Training

  • The first step for all new leaders
  • Should be taken immediately after you register and before you meet with any Scouts
  • There is a version for Cub Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, Varsity Scout Leader and Venturing Crew Leader
  • Take the course online through the Online Learning Center in MyScouting (if you are new to Scouting, you will be asked to create an account)

This is Scouting

  • Picks up where Fast Start leaves off
  • Takes about an hour to complete
  • Take the course online through the Online Learning Center in MyScouting (if you are new to Scouting, you will be asked to create an account)
